Plain-language summary: use ScanTo.pro lawfully, don't abuse the API or resell access without a license, you keep ownership of the documents you upload, and either of us can end the agreement — full details below. This is a standard SaaS terms template; have it reviewed by a lawyer before relying on it for a live, paying business.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you (either an individual or an entity, "you" or "Customer") and ScanTo.pro ("ScanTo.pro", "we", "us") governing your access to and use of our website, dashboard and API (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing the API, or clicking "I agree" during signup, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
ScanTo.pro provides an optical character recognition (OCR) API and dashboard that extracts structured data — such as merchant, date, line items, totals and tax — from receipts, invoices and similar documents that you upload or submit via the API ("Documents"). We may add, change or remove features of the Service at any time, and will make reasonable efforts to notify active customers of changes that materially reduce functionality.
When using the Service, you agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, with or without notice, depending on severity.
API access is subject to the rate limits and fair-use thresholds described in our API documentation for your plan. We may throttle, queue or reject requests that exceed these limits, or that we reasonably believe are abusive, automated in a way that degrades the Service for other customers, or intended to stress-test our infrastructure without prior written permission.
The Service, including its underlying software, models, design, branding and documentation, is owned by ScanTo.pro and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your internal business purposes or your own product's functionality via the API — nothing here transfers ownership of the Service to you.
We aim for high availability and publish uptime figures in good faith, but the Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may perform scheduled maintenance, and occasional downtime or degraded performance can occur due to factors outside our control (for example, upstream cloud provider incidents). Enterprise customers on a Custom plan may receive a specific uptime SLA under a separate agreement.
The Service, including OCR output, is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Automated data extraction can contain errors — you're responsible for reviewing and validating extracted data before relying on it for accounting, tax or other critical decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScanTo.pro and its affiliates won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data or business opportunity, arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
You agree to indemnify and hold ScanTo.pro harmless from any claims, damages or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your Documents, your use of the Service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ScanTo.pro is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction, unless applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify active account holders by email and update the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms; if you don't agree, you should stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
